the challenge

India makes some of the world's finest leather, but the brand needed a storefront that felt like luxury, not a Shopify theme. Full control over every pixel, animation and interaction, with real e-commerce underneath.

the approach

I went headless: Next.js 16 with React 19 on the front, Shopify Storefront GraphQL API behind it for catalog, product pages and full cart management. Custom auth with NextAuth, rich GSAP and Framer Motion animation throughout, and a design language built around the material itself.

the result

A storefront where product and inventory updates go live in seconds via webhook-driven ISR revalidation, with no rebuilds and no stale pages, wrapped in an edge security layer with CSRF protection, rate limiting and full CSP headers.

design details

The design leads with the material: full-bleed textures, restrained type, and motion that behaves like leather: weighty, smooth, never bouncy.

under the hood

Edge-compatible middleware handles CSRF token validation, sliding-window rate limiting (100 req/min per IP) and device fingerprinting, security that never blocks a legitimate customer.
